Eugene Pinkhassik, Chief Scientist

   Dr. Eugene Pinkhassik, Chief Technology Officer, is a director of the Institute for Nanomaterials Development and Innovation at the University of Memphis (INDIUM) and an Associate Professor of Chemistry. He is an expert in nanomaterials design and fabrication and building enabling technologies for their application. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award, the most prestigious NSF award to young faculty. Under his leadership, INDIUM obtained $3.7M in new funding over two years.

Marc Diaz, General Partner

   Marc Diaz, General Partner, has been intrigued with the convergence of business and technology making things simpler and more streamlined throughout his career. He applied this practice to the real estate industry, founding and currently operating Merge Realty and CloseTRAK. Previously, Marc began his career as the Vice-President for the Bond Division of the Financial Services Group of First Tennessee Bank and moved on to become Managing Partner and co-owner of Realty Closing Services, Inc. A pioneer in applying meaningful technology to the field of real estate, Diaz plans to launch MidSouth Residential in the spring of 2006. Currently, Marc also serves as the Entrepreneur in Residence at the FedEx Institute of Technology on the University of Memphis campus running a regional business plan competition. Marc has a B.A in Business and M.S. in E-Commerce from the Fogelman College of Business and J.D from the Cecil C. Humphrey's School of Law at the University of Memphis.

Eric Mathews, General Partner

   Eric Mathews, General Partner, is the co-founder of Mercury Technology Labs, a venture identification and creation company operating from Memphis, TN. Eric was formerly the Associate Director of Corporate Research and Development of the FedEx Institute of Technology. At the Institute, he was responsible for leading economic development as well as growing and supporting technology based research activities. Eric's career has been entrenched in the various stages of technology development, including the founding, directing, and developing of new research centers and consortia. Eric has a B.S. in Chemistry from Rhodes College, a M.S. in Psychology from the University of Memphis. Eric consults with industry and has been quoted in international, national and local press outlets on the use and influence of technology in modern society and industry.
